REGIONAL: Cold call prevention firm's company director banned for nuisance calls
Leah Masters, 34, was the sole director of Cold Call Elimination Limited, based in Northgate, Chichester.
But now she has been banned after 382 unsolicited marketing calls were made to members of the public who were registered with the Telephone Preference Service.

David Brooks, chief investigator at the Insolvency Service, said: ‘This is a serious case where the actions of the director and the company have caused distress to members of the public in contravention of UK and EC regulations.
‘This ban reflects the seriousness of these actions and the robust stance that the Insolvency Service will take against those whose conduct falls below accepted commercial standards.’
The problem dates back to December 2013 when the Information Commissioner’s Office told CCEL it received complaints from subscribers to TPS, who did not consent to receive calls from the firm.

The ICO monitored the firm for three months. But in August 2014 more complaints were received despite an initial improvement.
Complaints were made between June 14, 2013, and March 31, 2015.
