Alternatively, for Fortnite players, you’ll receive your challenge rewards after logging into Fortnite when each challenge is completed in Rocket League.

Epic Games says, “You do not need to claim rewards in Fortnite to get your Fortnite items.”

How to get involved

Rocket League developer Psynoix was bought by Epic Games earlier this year, so all you have to do is link your Rocket League account to your Epic Games account to be ready to claim rewards in Rocket League and Fortnite.

To do this, you’ll need to log into your Epic Games account (or create one). You’ll be prompted to do this anyway when you start up Rocket League for the first time after the update.

From there, you’ll be asked to set a ‘primary platform’, which will be your source of progression (Rocket Pass Progress, Competitive Rank, XP Level) for all your connected platforms.

“In other words, be sure to choose the platform where you have the most progress in Rocket Pass, and your highest Competitive Rank,” Rocket League explains.

Once you’ve chosen your ‘primary platform’, you’ll be able to play with your Competitive Rank, and Rocket Pass progress, and XP Level on all other connected platforms.

You’ll also be able to connect additional platforms you have to your Epic Games account on the Rocket League account linking page.

Simply link your platforms using your PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch Online and Steam account login information and share progress.

You can also choose one of these as your primary platform from the linking page.

If you make a mistake or change your mind about which platform you want as your primary, you can unlink your platform and choose a different one - but you will not be able to link that platform to a different Epic Games Account.

If you’ve linked platforms to your Epic Games Account in the past, you won’t need to do it again for Rocket League.
