NOSTALGIA WITH BOB HIND: Revenge of the giblet soup

At Christmas 1940 the battleship HMS Revenge was in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Atlantic convoy defence.While those at home were suffering the effects of severe rationing, the sailors in the battleship had a superb Christmas menu.Rationing did not affect large countries such as Canada and America so provisions would have been somewhat easier to obtain on that side of the Atlantic.The giblet soup as a starter for dinner sounds delicious and I'm sure many of us will have this on our Christmas Day lunch menu.
