Ainsworth close to Fareham parkrun course record

The talented City of Portsmouth youngster finished fifth overall as she enjoyed her first trip to the event hosted at Cams Hall Estate.

Under-15 athlete Ainsworth is now the second fastest female at Fareham and she has the course record of 18.57 well within her capability in future.

Her club-mate Eloise O’Neill also had an excellent run as she was second female.

She ran 21.36, a new personal best for the 5k.

Matthew Brown finished first overall with a time of 18.34 and Chris Buxton, who represents Gosport Road Runners, was second in 18.36.

Mark Walton set his course best, finishing in 18.40 to take third place.

Chris Tollet set his fastest time for Fareham parkrun with 19.41 as he finished in eighth place.

The run saw 206 people finish the 5k and 23 volunteers ensured everyone had a great morning.

Fareham Crusaders had a good turnout at the event with a number of personal bests.

Andrew Leonard, Esther Leonard, Neil Richards and James Dempsey all celebrated new fastest times for the course.

Keith and Linda Whitehead visited the event. They run for the Knowle and Dorridge club. They both enjoyed the run. Keith said: ‘Thank you from two visitors from Solihull. This is a great event run by lovely people.’
