DARRON CRAMER took the individual honours in the Individual Sea Angling Club’s latest Solent League match.
Round four of the competition was fished in fair conditions, with the April showers staying away at Lee-on-the-Solent.
Cramer’s catch included a thornback ray of 8lb 13.5oz and 85cm and a smoothhound at 4lb 8oz.
The total weight of his haul was 14lb 10oz for a cash prize of £140 as well as the ISAC round four-match winner’s trophy and certificate.
Dave Lane was runner-up, from peg 59 placed near the Old Ship Inn.
He landed a single dogfish and pouting, with three smoothhound, for a total weight of 10lb 8oz.
Third place went to Paul Stevens, who reeled in a thornback ray, with a 78cm smoothhound and two pouting for a zone winning weight of more than 10lb.
Portsmouth’s Stephen Wigglesworth won zone B from peg 35, placed towards Elmore.
He landed a thornback ray of over 8lb, with a flounder and pouting sealing a zone winning weight of over 9lb.
More than 200 fish were recorded by 73 entrants.
Fish caught included bass, dogfish, flounder, plaice, pouting, thornback rays (three of which were specimen fish), rockling, smoothhound and whiting.
The heaviest fish of the match was a 119-per-cent specimen thornback ray of 9lb 8 3/4ozs, landed by Danny Woodcock from peg 21 in zone A, placed around the third shingle mound on Browndown.
More than £1,000 was paid out in prize money.
Rob Marshall scored seven points from round four and remains top of the individual Shore Championship table, on 11 points.
However, second-placed Richard Dorgan closed the gap to just one point.
Ian Dancey, from Waterlooville, remains third overall.
The championship is a best 10 results from 12 open events.
The next match will be fished at Browndown Beach, Gosport on Saturday, May 19 (from 7pm-midnight).
The book-in takes place two hours before the start.
