Loraine Perry delivered success in the ladies and the overall competitions in the Tronixpro UK Ladies Championships.
The Lee-on-the-Solent angler recorded wins in the ladies’ category on both days.
She was announced as overall champion of the inaugural event.
In the overall weekend individual results she came fourth out of the 103 anglers attending.
Perry, 41, is originally from the Isle of Wight but now lives in Lee-on-the-Solent.
She said: ‘I am excited and over the moon at having won the title.
‘It was a tough two days of fishing with very strong winds on day one making things particularly difficult.
‘I was competing against top lady anglers from all over the UK and I fished hard to beat them.
‘They were really happy for me, though, and I haven’t stopped smiling since.
‘I will be returning next year to contest the title and hope that more ladies interested in match angling might consider attending this well-organised dedicated event.’
Perry will compete with the England Ladies in the SALC (Sea Angling Liaison Committee) Home Nations Shore Angling Championships on July 1 to July 4 in Co Wexford, Ireland.
Teams from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales compete in the Home Nations Championships.
Any parties interested in sponsoring England ladies should contact the Angling Trust Competitions and Events Manager on 0116 9061 301.
Perry’s big UK victory will boost her confidence.
She added: ‘This has been a great warm-up for the Home Nations Championships in July which is very much a team effort.’
