Ian Dancey reeled in the ISAC Solent League round seven honours.

The Waterlooville angler landed five gilthead bream for a winning weight of 2lb 2.25oz.

The contest, held at Hillhead, Fareham on Saturday, attracted 57 entries.

A total of 61 sizeable fish were caught from 75 pegs, in three zones, from Meon Road towards the old boathouse.

Dancey fished peg 42 in zone B – near the stream at Brownwich Lane.

His fourth match win earned him a prize of £130.

Runner-up was Mike Brown, from peg 69 in zone C, with 1lb 10oz.

Brown’s tub gurnard of 1lb 3.75oz was the heaviest fish of the match – and new ISAC Solent League record for the species.

Russell Preston netted seven points in the match to take the lead in the overall championship.

He now has 33 points and a total weight of 10lb 13.75oz.

Nick May is second on 37 points, while Mike Brown’s zone win saw him move into third spot on 38.

He also leads the money list with a £370 prize pot.

Meanwhile in coarse fishing, Tony Butler won the annual Ron Snook Memorial Championship at Sinah Lake on Hayling Island.

Butler fished peg 12 and caught 15lb 11oz. His haul was made up of roach and rudd, with one tench of 5lb 15oz.

Tony Frost was second off peg 15 with a weight of 14lb 7oz.

The match attracted 20 anglers and £200 was raised for local charities.

Horizon Angling Club for the Disabled held their 24-hour fishing marathon at their exclusive lakes in Petersfield.

Aaron Norgrove, the club’s treasurer, together with webmaster Graham Titheridge completed the marathon.

There were not too many fish caught but Norgrove did land a nice 5lb 2oz common carp.

The club received a donation from Hampshire Baits, while the company also supplied the bait for the event.

Also sponsoring the marathon were staff at the parking office at Havant Council.

The club have thanked them for their generous support.

The Horizon Angling Club for the Disabled are always on the lookout for sponsorship and donations.
