Temperatures soar at 250th Southsea parkrun

Victory AC’s Dan Bailey made it two wins from two in the Absolute Running Gosport Summer 5k Series.

The course record set in the opening event last month held strong by three seconds this time as Bailey completed the double.

His time of 16.43 showed good consistent running after a 16.40 in race one.

Stubbington Green Runner James Sawyer finished the race in second place (17.16).

Tom Barnard, of Fareham Crusaders, finished third as he crossed the line in 17.47.

City of Portsmouth youngster Adam Kimber finished fourth and was first junior male (18.13).

Melissa Hutton-Dunton was first lady with a 20.39 clocking.

Kayleigh Johns finished second and was first junior female (21.09).

Bayside Tri’s Su Baldock took third place (21.31).

A total of 144 runners completed the second race and the third event of four is on Tuesday, August 11.
