The event hosted by Rob Piggott’s Believe & Achieve Events attracts fast club runners, as well as plenty of people new to the distance, or running for charity.

Havant-based club Victory have a strong line-up for the run with 2016 winner Bailey, Paul Mitchinson and David Howard leading the way.

They have all been in excellent form.

Mitchinson and Bailey are both currently in the top 20 in the Hampshire Road Race League after finishing eighth and ninth respectively in the Ryde 10 mile race on Sunday.

Jolley completed the tough coastal, mixed terrain course with a time of 1hr 31min 14sec in 2016.

She has been in outstanding form recently.

Denmead Striders, Portsmouth Joggers, Portsmouth Triathletes, Fareham Crusaders, Gosport Road Runners and Stubbington Green are among the clubs also well represented on the entry list.

The Solent Dawn Trophy will go to the winning club or team, with times added up for five males and five females for the fastest total.

The race headquarters is the Pyramids Centre, in Southsea, with the start at 9.15am.

Live music will be featured at the venue as runners finish from Lily Garland.

Numbers can be collected today from Alexandra Sports, or tomorrow from 7.30am inside the Plaza Suite at The Pyramids Centre, PO5 3ST.

The route is flat and includes sections along the promenade, as well as grass, shingle and the difficult muddy beach section.
