Angus and Margaret McGilp celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in style at Fareham parkrun on Saturday.
They completed the scenic 5k course together and then enjoyed cake in the Cams Mill pub after.
In her run report for Fareham parkrun, Margaret said: ‘Angus and I knew this was a very special day. Our 50th wedding anniversary.
‘What better way to celebrate we thought, than with our Fareham parkrun friends and 193 runners braved the chilly, windy morning to help us in our celebration.
‘Angus and I would like to thank the Fareham parkrunners and the Cams Mill restaurant for their wonderful support on our very special day.
‘We decided to be the tail runners dressed in our finery.
‘The high fives and congratulations that everyone gave or shouted out was overwhelming.
‘This all goes to prove that Fareham parkrun becomes your family.
‘Over our first year we all got to know one another and Saturday morning does become the must do to catch up with each other.
‘It’s not always about good times and PBs but about being among new friends.’
The course is at Cams Hall Estate, Fareham.
It is run on a mixture of tarmac paths, trail paths and grass.
Chichester’s Charlie Benson finished first on Saturday with a new personal best of 18min 47sec.
Michele Ness completed her third parkrun at Fareham.
She finished first lady, setting her best time so far with 22.14.
