It was a superb show for the 141st Lee-on-the-Solent parkrun

The Fareham Crusaders volunteer takeover helped to add to a super parkrun morning.

Club members took on the various roles as they were helping, encouraging and supporting as many of those taking part donned their superhero costumes.

It is always a very popular event at Lee with plenty of great community support for the event.

Lee had 452 finishers for the 5k which is hosted at Marine Parade East, PO13 9LB every Saturday and starts at 9am.

Keith Barron completed his 100th parkrun. Kirsty Fletcher, of Gosport Road Runners, joined the 50 club.

Rob Greenwood finished first with a time of 16min 47sec. The male record for the course is 15.59 so who knows, that might be a target in future when weather conditions are good.

Nikki Moxham was first lady finisher and in sixth position overall (18.46).

The Fareham Crusaders volunteer team also included pacers and they helped as an amazing total of 94 personal bests were recorded.

It was a good morning of running for Kerry Brown who produced a superb effort in her superwoman costume to finish in a new personal best time of 27.06.

Among those to also crown their morning 5k with a personal best were Tina Mackay, Jennifer Mondey, Lynne Simpson and Rebecca Wroblewski.

Anyone who would like to take part and hasn’t so far done a parkrun should first register on the website and print a barcode which will be scanned at the finish.

All parkruns are free events. They rely on volunteers to ensure they can happen each week and this is also a great way of meeting new friends and playing a positive role in helping as people get together for the 5k.
