DanIEL O’Boyle returned to the Absolute Running Gosport 5k Summer Series in fine style on Tuesday.
The speedy Stubbington Green Runners athlete shattered the previous course best to win with a time of 15min 35sec.
O’Boyle won the series in 2014 but hadn’t competed in the opening two races this summer.
Victory’s Dan Bailey crossed the line second to continue his excellent form after winning races one and two.
His 16.30 time was also inside the previous course best he set in race one (16.40).
Stubbington’s Andy Simpson finished third (16.58) with Fareham Crusaders’ Tom Barnard fourth (17.36).
Adam Kimber, of City of Portsmouth, was first junior in a time of 18.36.
Stubbington’s Susie MacGregor was first lady to finish, with a good time of 19.22.
City of Portsmouth junior Kayleigh Johns was second lady (21.22) and Bayside Tri’s Su Baldock took third (21.43).
Plenty of personal bests were smashed as a total of 148 runners finished.
The final race in the series is on Tuesday, September 8.
