PUMA, the official sportswear and merchandise supplier of the Great South Run, is giving The News readers the chance to win a place in the Great South Run on October 27.

The fast and flat 10 mile route takes in the iconic sites of the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, including Portsmouth Cathedral, Spinnaker Tower and the HMS Victory.

Every year the event attracts top athletes, celebrities and runners, and more than £30 million has been raised for charity over the years.

Jo Pavey won the race last year.

She will be returning to defend her title in Portsmouth.

It promises to be a special occasion, with Pavey having captured the admiration of so many fans with her stunning performances in the Commonwealth Games and the European Championships this summer.

South African Stephen Mokoka was the men’s champion in 2013.

It was his second crown after he also won in 2009.

Alongside the main event, there is also the Bupa junior and mini Great South Run and the Bupa Great South Run 5k.

PUMA Running athletes include Eilidh Child, Chris Thompson and Susan Partridge.

They all train and run in the PUMA Faas range and you can find the Faas that suits your running style at #ForeverFaster
