A BOWLING club threw open its doors and put on a family fun day to encourage more new members to use it facilities.
Games of bowls, skittles and pool were played on Saturday at The North End Club, in Beresford Road.
More than 100 people enjoyed a barbecue at the event.
Club director Alex Tymon said she was delighted to see so many people at the day and encouraged other people to give the club a try.
Ms Tymon said: ‘People can come in and try us out, and then hopefully join us and be part of the club.
‘You can just be a social member and come in for a drink, it’s a nice quiet bar, or you can join in with the social activities or you can take up bowling. I took up bowling four years ago and now I’m absolutely addicted to it.’

Also at the day was Ron Bailey, who has been a member at the club since 1969 when it was just a wooden shed. He oversaw the building of the new clubhouse in 2006.
Mr Bailey, 81, and his wife Mildred, 79, said they were pleased to have seen the club grow so much.
