Joel McIntyre made a winning return to the ring on Saturday night.
The former English light-heavyweight picked up a routine eight-round win over durable Bulgarian journeyman Tayar Mehmed.
McIntyre delivered an 80-71 points success at the Mountbatten Centre, flooring his opponent on the way to the verdict.
The 30-year-old was making his return to action following a surprise defeat to Liam Conroy last September.
McIntyre said: ‘I was pleased enough with how I performed.
‘He’s only been stopped by heavyweights before and was like a zombie - he kept coming forward!
‘Some people doubted whether I would get back in there after losing, but I’m still hungry and want to move forward quickly now.’
