Portchester X made Copnor A pay for fielding a weakened side with an 8-1 victory in the Portsmouth Snooker League division one.

Captain Scott Compton and vice-skipper Steve Toms were missing for the Portsmouth-based side at Castle Street. 

Dan Compton and Lee Eden stopped the whitewash in the eighth frame for the visitors.

Jason Tame, Neil Turp, Andy Mason and Mark Kingswell were on target for Portchester. 

Leaders Craneswater A were pushed by their Q team but managed to scrape a 5-4 win.

Tony Hansford and Mike Talmondt inspired their team to success with a brace apiece.

Skipper Matt Small did his best to keep it close with a double for Q.

Emsworth nicked a 5-4 victory over neighbours Bellair. Greg Harding and Nick Fegan grabbed the glory in a tight finish.

In division two, Copnor D went clear at the summit with a hard-earned 5-4 success against Waterlooville D.

The scores were even after the singles with Dave Glover, Wayne Rendle and Lee Rendle on target for the home side, while Dan Harvest, Darren Harper and Jamie Wilson hit back.

Then Rendle racked up another success over Harvest to take the spoils for Copnor.

Mark Jones inspired Craneswater Z to success over their R side 6-3.

North End Bowls are favourites for the division three silverware after a 6-3 success against rivals Alexandra.

Copnor B slumped to a 6-3 defeat at Pompey Royals.

Als Club had to work for a narrow 5-4 win at Craneswater Dandy.

Ioan Moon bagged a brace for the Southsea outfit to keep it close.

However, Paul Ashmore and Colin Archer got their heads down to give the Portchester-based club a victory.

Cowplain B cruised to an 8-1 win over Cowplain Misfits. Gary Curtis, Terry Lees and Will Garrett delivered two frames each.
