Hampshire must continue to wait for the arrival of overseas player Shahid Afridi.
The Pakistan all-rounder was due to return to the Royals’ Friends Life t20 ranks for Friday’s home clash with Kent.
But visa problems have held up his comeback, and while the club hope to have him back for Sunday’s trip to Canterbury, there is no definite news on when he will be available.
Afridi scored 180 runs and took 17 wickets last season as the Royals made it through to finals day at Edgbaston, where they were eventually defeated by Somerset in a super over.
While Hampshire were expecting him to miss the first two games of this year’s t20 competition, they were hoping he would be back for the clash with the Spitfires.
They must now keep their fingers crossed that the paperwork can be sorted out to allow Afridi to return in time for this weekend’s showdown in Kent.
