Michael Carberry is still waiting for his international debut in limited-overs cricket after he was left out of the second t20 international against Australia on Saturday.
His omission for the 27-run triumph in Durham followed Thursday’s Ageas Bowl opener, where he was also left kicking his heels.
Danny Briggs did play, though, and the spinner took two for 25, including Australia skipper – and former Hampshire team-mate – George Bailey (23).
The duo will now hope to feature in an unofficial ODI against Ireland tomorrow before Carberry links up with the full 50-over squad for the five-match series with the Aussies.
The Ageas Bowl hosts the final match of the battle on Monday, September 16.
