Hampshire all-rounder Liam Dawson has been called up to England’s Test squad for the remainder of their India series.
The ECB today announced the 26-year-old will be joining Alastair Cook’s men for their final two matches, with the visitors trailing 2-0.
Dawson, who was selected for the Lions programme this winter before being released to play for Rangpur Riders in the Bangladesh Premier League, replaces Surrey’s Zafar Ansari, who sustained a back injury in the second Test in Visakhapatnam.
The formner made both his ODI and T20 debut for England last summer and is expected to arrive in Mumbai early next week.
The Test series’ fourth contest begins next Thursday, December 8.
