Hill and Smith blast centuries as Sarisbury teams beat their Burridge counterparts

Josh Hill blasted a century as Sarisbury defeated Burridge by 57 runs in the Southern Premier League Cup East group.

Batting at No 4, Hill struck seven sixes and 12 fours in an unbeaten 112 made off 81 deliveries.

He helped Sarisbury total 240-6 off their 40 overs - 100 of which came off the last ten overs.

Sam Floyd added 60 and Alec Damley-Jones (2-32) was Burridge’s best bowler.

Chris Sanders and Jordan Wright then set up reducing Burridge’s reply to tatters.

The opening bowlers both took two wickets as they lurched to 40-5.

Wright (5-024-2) accounted for opener Azi Chowdhury (5) and skipper Hilio De Abreu (4) while Sanders (8-5-11-2) dismissed Joe Collings-Wells (12) and James Hughes (6).

No 6 Dan Stancliffe led the fightback, hitting 87 off 79 balls before he was run out by Sam Hill.

Jack Paskins was 28 not out as Burridge were eventually all out for 183.

Elliott Smith struck a century as Sarisbury 3rds thrashed their Burridge counterparts in the Hampshire District Leagues.

He hit 18 fours and four sixes before retiring on 104 not out as his side rattled up 366-8 off 4 overs.

Dom Sampson joined in the fun, smacking seven sixes and six fours in a rapid 76 as poor Ben Randall conceded 76 runs in his six overs.

Andy Hulse fared no better, conceding 50 runs in just two overs.

In reply, Burridge captain Simon Bevis top scored with 67 as his side finished 162 runs adrift on 204-5.

Pete Wild and Nick Creal both hit 47 while Mike Edwards bagged 2-30.
