Hampshire have signed South-African all-rounder Ryan McLaren for the final month of the season
The 32-year old is pencilled in to make his debut at Durham on September 1 and will replace the departing fast-bowler Jackson Bird.
Bird’s stint with the club is now finished and he is due to return home to prepare for the start of the Australian domestic cricket season.
McLaren, an aggressive, hard-hitting batsman has also featured for Kent and Middlesex in domestic cricket.
Hampshire director of cricket, Giles White, said: ‘We are delighted to have an all-rounder of Ryan’s quality taking over from Jackson for what will be an important end to the season.
‘He is hugely experienced and will add quality and balance to the team.’
