Hampshire suffered Yorkshire Bank 40 semi-final heartbreak at the Ageas Bowl today.

The Royals went down to a 31-run defeat at the hands of Glamorgan as the defence of the trophy they lifted at Lord’s last summer ended.

Skipper Dimi Mascarenhas asked the Dragons to bat and they posted 234 for four, thanks largely to a late flurry from Jimmy Allenby (74 not out) and Ben Wright (47 not out).

Hampshire’s reply never really got going and, while Jimmy Adams (59) and Sean Ervine (54) notched half-centuries, they came up short on 203 for eight as their hopes of silverware this term were dashed.
