The top-flight aggregate race in the Portsmouth Winter League was a four-way tie at the Christmas break, with a quartet of players remaining undefeated.

Admiral Drake B’s Adam Lipscombe, Jolly Taxpayer C’s Andy Newcombe, Mr Pickwick B’s Chris Jafkins and Phoenix North End B’s Vince Aston all have 100-per-cent records.

Dean Jones (Newcome Arms A) and Danny Smith (Admiral Drake B) have the quickest games so far in division A with 13-dart efforts, and a 139 finish from Rose in June B’s Paul Taylor is the highest check-out.

David Place jnr (Harvest Home) and Sam Palmer (Shearer Arms) are the only players in division B without a loss to their name.

Palmer’s team-mate, Phil Mercer, notched a 14-dart leg and Graham Arms A’s Allen Duffin hit a 126 game-shot – both of which have yet to be bettered.

In division C, David Lock (Froddington Arms A) and Paul Miller (Star & Garter), are the aggregate front-runners, with neither having lost a match.

Battle of Minden’s John Higgins hit a 152 finish – the highest in the tier – and Tony Price (Newcome Arms B) has the quickest leg with a 17-darter.

Three players share the honours for fastest leg so far in division D, with Gary Hornby (Mermaid), David Lock (Old House at Home C) and Nigel Teague (Pembroke) all recording 21-dart efforts.

Old House at Home C’s Keith Lovell holds the highest finish with a 102 check-out and Mark Standen (Fawcett Inn) leads the aggregate having won all of his games.

Stag B duo Matt Jeffery and Dave Smith, Jolly Taxpayer A’s Steve Houghton, Eldon Arm’s Michael Chandler and Connaught Arms’ Luke Smith are all unbeaten in division E.

Houghton and Dave Smith also share the joint-fastest leg, having thrown 17-darters, while Dave Parsons (Barley Mow) hit a 95 game-shot which is the best to date.
