Paul Gibbs claimed the Portsmouth Winter Grand Prix title with an 8-2 triumph over Adam Lipscombe in the final.

Fifth-seed Gibbs whitewashed Lee Evans 5-0 in his opening match.

He then recorded a 6-2 triumph over Gary Stafford in the quarter-finals.

Top-seed Danny Smith was his victim in the semis, as Gibbs recorded a 7-6 win.

Lipscombe’s route to the final began with a 5-1 win over third-seed Martin Stead.

He then beat Ricky Williams 6-4 and second-seed Andy Jenkins 7-3.

Jon Bramble won the series plate competition, recording a 2-0 win over John Large in the final.

Bramble had earlier overcome Steve Marsh in the semi-final, having already beaten Gary Smith in the last eight.

Large won against Dan Carter in the quarter-finals, before beating Ivan Gicquel in the semis.

Sam Pike beat Jane Monaghan 5-3 to be crowned ladies’ champion.
