Derby Tavern triumphed 6-3 over Stag B in division A.

Saul Turner, Andy Barlow, David Cunningham and Liam Jinman – who scored 180 – put Derby firmly in the driving seat.

Stag mounted a spirited comeback through P Neale, John O’Shea and B Saunders.

However, that was all they could muster as Mark Fearon and R Keith took the last two legs to guarantee Derby the points and strengthen their position in the top half of the table.

Phoenix Public Bar B emerged victorious as division B’s top two clashed, inflicting an 8-1 defeat on Graham Arms B.

Ian Day, Les Rance, Gavin Hall and Pete Smith put Phoenix 4-0 up before Terry Griffiths won for Graham to keep them in the match.

But it was a short-lived resurgence with Phoenix’s Bob Hey, Trevor Cawte, Jim McIssacs and Dan Eade all on the mark to complete the rout.

Graham slipped to third spot with defeat.

Pelham Arms A moved within two points of division C’s promotion places as they beat Phoenix Public Bar A 7-2.

Pelham drew first blood through James Jordan and went on to build a commanding lead as Paul Slingsby, Graham Kemp and Alan Poulton all chalked up wins.

Mark Wilson reduced Phoenix’s deficit but Wayne Martin and Oliver McDonald sealed victory for Pelham.

Les Phipps took a consolation for Phoenix before Ricky Udy added Pelham’s seventh.

Admiral Drake A stay pointless at the foot of division D, after they lost 5-4 to fellow-strugglers Barley Mow.

Drake initially took a 2-0 lead with wins from Simon Hughes and Anthony Griffin, but Mow soon restored parity as Paul Harris and A Lawson were on the mark.

Drake moved ahead again through Allen Davis but Mow then took control thanks to legs by Rae Lawson and George Watson.

Richard Linford won for Drake to make it 4-4 but Mow took the points as they were awarded a walkover in the last leg.

Ricky Williams and Jason Crawley (Phoenix Lounge A) both threw 21-dart legs of 701, with Williams hitting two maximums, while team-mate Bob Crawley checked out in 23 darts.

Neil Sheppard (Rose in June B) recorded an 18-dart leg of 501 and Kev White (Jolly Taxpayer C) checked out on 110, while Geoff Barnes (Battle of Minden B) and Jon Davidson (Eldon Arms) finished on 105 and 100 respectively.

Barry Stevens (Admiral Drake B) fired in back-to-back maximums and Chris Smith (Froddington Arms B), Rob White (Jolly Taxpayer C), Andy Shaw (Phoenix Lounge A), Steve Musson (Admiral Drake B) and Ian Smith (British Queen) all scored 180.
