Mermaid dropped to the bottom of Portsmouth Men’s Summer League division B after suffering a 6-3 defeat at the hands of Oyster House A.

Oyster had to come from behind after Connor Wheatcroft and Bill Messingbird put Mermaid 2-0 up.

Alex Hood and Chris Cobb Snr restored parity before John Holts edged his side back in front.

It was one-way traffic from there on, though, as Oyster seized control with Chris Cobb Jnr, Robert Loveridge, Jon Macdonald and Paul Russell powering them to victory.

Old House at Home C maintained their two-point lead at the top of division C with a 5-4 triumph over Druids Arms B.

Old House stormed into a 4-1 lead as Keith Lovell, Shane Bailey, Matt Lock and Howard Price were all on the mark, while only Steve Hansford could muster an early response.

Phil Allen kept Druids in the match but Ian Carter won the next leg to bag the points for Old House.

Druids claimed late consolations through Tony Smith and Ron Udy.

Thatchers came from behind to dispatch Royal 5-4 in division D.

Lloyd Stephenson got the ball rolling for Thatchers.

But they were soon behind as Danny Hayden and Paul Lipscombe notched legs for Royal.

Thatchers pulled level through Chris Lawrence before Derek Toms and Ron Waters put Royal on the brink of victory.

However, that was all they could manage as Gary Ramshead, Simon Edgar and Daniel Paddon completed Thatchers’ fightback.

Artillery remain entrenched in division A’s relegation zone after going down 5-4 to Shearer Arms.

Roy Morran and Paul Richardson put Artillery 2-1 up after Ricky Udy had won the opener.

Shearer regained the lead thanks to Alan Poulton and Brucer Baker but Artillery squared the match with a set from Jim Adams.

Sam Palmer moved Shearer 4-3 up before Paul Wain clinched their victory with an 18-dart leg and 115 finish.

Austin Main won the last set as a consolation for Artillery.

Shane Filleul (Newcome Arms A) threw a 16-dart leg, while his team-mates Del Thomson and Darren Barnes both had 17-darters with Barnes scoring 180.
