TOP-FLIGHT leaders Admiral Drake B lost their Portsmouth Men’s Summer League unbeaten record as Phoenix North End B send them tumbling to a 5-4 defeat.

Jon Bramble started Drake in winning ways with a 17-dart leg and they were soon 3-0 up with Danny Smith and Charlie Jackson taking sets.

Phoenix hit back to restore parity with Lee Smith notching a 16-darter, Jason Crawley throwing an 18-dart leg and 144 finish and Lee Cook registering a 15-dart effort.

Drake’s James Brooker hit a 128 finish to put his side ahead at one point in the seventh set but Vince Aston battled back to win a crucial set and put Phoenix 4-3 up.

Ricky Williams fired in 15 and 18-dart legs to pull Drake level and force a decider which Dean Messenbird won to seal victory for Phoenix.

Graham Arms B pulled themselves out of division B’s bottom three with a 6-3 derby triumph over Graham Arms A.

Billy Thompson, Dave Barker and Dean Barlow gave the B team a 3-0 lead before Martin Simmons got Graham A off the mark.

Graham B’s Simon Blake made it 4-1 but Rob Knowles and Mark Mihell were on the mark to keep the A side in the match.

Mark Evans and Daniel Stapley took the last two ties to win the match for Graham B.

George & Dragon enjoyed a convincing 7-2 win over Druids Arms B in division C.

Les Weston took the opener for George and, despite Druids’ Phil Ponsford immediately levelling, they swept to victory with legs from Robbie Brooks, Malcolm Tilley, Philip North, Shane Plummer, Frank Woodward and Kevin Woodward.

The last leg was won by Druids’ Clayton White.

Eldon Arms continued their dominance of division D as they beat Fawcett Inn 5-4.

Sam Damarell and Steve Hartill put Eldon 2-0 up before Gary Nolan, John Dungworth and Josh Olden gave Fawcett the lead.

Eldon moved 4-3 ahead thanks to Martin Reilly and Jon Davison but Steve Goodeve struck for Fawcett to make the last leg a decider and it was won by Eldon’s Michael Chandler.

Darren Barnes (Newcome Arms A) threw a 13-dart leg, while Steve Filby (Newcome Arms A) notched a 17-darter.

Frankie Howard (Newcome Arms A), Andy Newcombe (Jolly Taxpayer C) and Dave Paul (Old House at Home B) were also in good form, finishing legs in 18 darts.

Paul Miller (Star & Garter) hit a 153 game-shot and Dave Smith (Old House at Home B) fired in a maximum.
