Mr Pickwick A secured a 7-2 derby triumph as they beat Mr Pickwick B to pull level with them in Portsmouth Men’s Summer League division A.

Malcolm Ogden and Neil Hewson began with wins but Pickwick B pulled level with sets from Laurie Clark and Liam Jafkins.

However, that was all they could muster as Julian Court, Phil Rudder, Allan Lloyd, Charlie Linkhorn and Paul Garland propelled them to a convincing win.

Rudder notched an 18-dart leg and Linkhorn checked out on 104, while Pickwick B had a score of 180 by Brian Colenutt and 150 from Daryl Connor.

Duke of Devonshire A moved into the top half of division B with a 6-3 victory over a depleted Graham Arms B.

Les Shipp and James Fyfield were awarded walkovers before Trevor Clements put them 3-0 up.

Robert Jamieson got Graham off the mark but wins from Paul Simmonds and Kev Goodall in the next two legs bagged the points for Duke.

Simon Blake and Terry Griffiths won consolations for Graham before Harry Rogers added Duke’s sixth.

Druids Arms B pulled away from division C’s relegation zone as they dispatched Mermaid 5-4.

Chris Brown and Steve Hansford gave Druids the lead but they then went behind as Pete Oliver, John Holts and James Wooley put Mermaid 3-2 up.

Druids seized momentum as Mark Pearce and Ian Attfield gave them a 4-3 lead but Stuart Edwards forced a decider which Tony Smith won.

In division D, Clarence Gardens closed in on second-placed Harvest Home B as they beat them 6-3.

Harvest’s Rob Andrews opened proceedings but Clarence then took control with James Miller, Ken Brown and Lee Robertson making it 3-1.

Peter Webb halved Harvest’s deficit but it was to no avail as Dan Shambrook and Andy Tucker took the next two ties to make it 5-2. Charlie Hymers took a consolation for Harvest before Jordan Styler-Boden capped the win.

Darren Barnes (Newcome Arms A) threw a 14-dart leg and 180, while Jon Bramble (Shearer Arms) and Shane Williams (Rose in June B) both had 15-darters – with Bramble scoring 180.

Steve Humby (Jolly Taxpayer C) finished a leg in 16 darts, Frankie Howard (Newcome Arms A) recorded a 17-dart effort and John Bradshaw (Admiral Drake B), Jim Mortimer, Andy Newcombe (both Jolly Taxpayer C), Paul Miller (Star & Garter) and Ray Williams (Lord Chichester B) all threw 18-darters.

Miller and Newcombe checked out on 129 and 117 respectively, while Glenn Stubbs (Pembroke) hit a 101 finish.

Dean Jones (Lord Chichester B) hit two 180s, Paul Emeney and Andrew Smith (both Stag A) also fired maximums and Alan Graf Snr (Froddington Arms A) scored 160.
