Raven’s promotion hopes were dealt a blow as they went down 5-4 to Froddington A in division C.

Froddington took a 3-1 lead with Liam Emery, Brian Stewart and Owen Taylor on the mark.

David Marshall got the early response for Raven, before Glenn Bremer reduced their deficit to one leg.

But Froddington hit back through Daniel Browne.

Raven were on the verge of a comeback as James Baseden and Lee Simmons made it 4-4.

But Froddington’s Louis Arnell took the last clash to bag the points.

Division D leaders Portland Arms suffered their second defeat of the season with a 5-4 loss to George & Dragon.

Dave Stewart and Joe Sweetman gave Portland a 2-0 lead before Tony Plummer got George off the mark.

Andy Hicks extended Portland’s lead.

George then battled back to seal victory. Robbie Brooks, Phillip Browne, Shane Plummer and Les Browne put them 5-3 up.

Keith Mayne recorded a late consolation for Portland.

Clarence Gardens enjoyed a 7-2 win against Barley Mow in division E.

Nick Hatherley and William Barker started Clarence off well.

But Rae Lawson took the third leg to half Mow’s deficit.

Glen Booth, Tony Bell, Lee Robinson and Michael Bowbrick gave Clarence victory, before Don Bromhead took a consolation for Mow and Clarence’s Dan Shambrook was awarded a walkover.

Mr Pickwick B cemented their second-place position in division A by beating Artillery Arms 5-4.

Graham Davies hit a 180 for Artillery but lost out as Paul La Roche, Shaun O’Donovan, Chris Jafkins, Charlie Dunn struck for Pickwick.

Lee Davies, Roy Morran, Austin Main and Derek Manchip replied.

Pickwick’s Lee O’Donovan then held his nerve to settle the contest.

Phoenix North End B lost 7-2 to Lord Chichester in division B after going two up through Terry Scullion and Gavin Hall.

But Chichester’s Dean Charman was awarded a walkover and it was one-way traffic from there.

Jim Stanhope, Steve Ketchen, John Madgwick Snr, Keith Taylor, John Madgwick Jnr and David Patourel fired Chichester to victory.

Charlie Linkhorn (Mr Pickwick A) threw a 17-dart leg while Andy Newcombe (Jolly Taxpayer C), Lee Smith (Phoenix North End B), Darren Barnes and Paul Richmond (both Newcome Arms A) all had 18-darters.

Steve Leigh (Harvest Home) hit a 152 game-shot, Jason Crawley (Phoenix North End B) checked out on 106, Steve Ockendon (Jolly Taxpayer C) fired a 101 finish and Kevin Mills (Jolly Taxpayer C) scored 174.
