Fareham Wheelers have strong hand in a3crg time trial

A raft of Fareham Wheelers will sign on for the a3crg 10-mile time trial tomorrow.

Seven members of the club are among the 71 contenders for the main event, which will begin at 3.10pm.

They include Gary Chambers and James Copeland, who were second and fourth in the Portsdown Hill time trial hosted by VC St Raphael last weekend.

A further three Wheelers will contest the road bike race, which begins at 2.35pm.

It has attracted 34 entries, including Pedal Heaven star Mitch Webber, who was second in this month’s Perfs Pedal.

Riders from Portsmouth Traithletes, Portsmouth North End and VC St Raphael are also in action.

The time trial is based at Bohunt School in Liphook, with the test taking place on the P886 course.

Competitors will head to Petersfield and back on the B2070 – the old A3.
