FINN duo Mika Immonen and Petri Makkonen signalled their intent to win the World Cup of Pool following their whitewash victory on the opening day.
Last year’s semi-finalists emphatically beat Korea 7-0 at the Mountbatten Centre yesterday.
Immonen said: ‘It’s a great confidence boost. We both played well and didn’t miss any balls so you can’t ask for any more than that.’
Defending champions Philippines edged past Chile 7-5 while Russia narrowly beat Japan 7-6.
In the opening session, unseeded Indonesia let a 5-2 lead slip to lose 7-6 against number 13 seeds Greece.
Number 16 seeds Italy were beaten 7-4 by France but Austria produced an emphatic 7-2 victory over Portugal.
