But Laycock will be waiting more than a month to make his maiden appearance with a four week lockdown, which came into force today, signalling the start of a suspension for non-elite football in England.

The forward arrives at the Crest Finance Stadium having made an impressive start to the season in front of goal, netting eight times in 15 appearances for AFC Stoneham.

That total is the same number as Portchester's leading scorer this season, summer signing Lee Wort.
