STEVE LEIGH admits it's a shame Baffins Milton Rovers have drawn a Wessex League premier division side in the FA Vase second round.

The PMC Stadium side have been handed a home tie against Bournemouth Poppies.

It’s the second successive round Baffins find themselves in an all-Wessex League clash, after winning 2-1 at Bashley on Saturday.

Leigh would have preferred to have met a club from a different league – although he expects a tough clash against Bournemouth.

The manager said: ‘All you can ask for is a home draw but this is a tough tie.

‘Bournemouth are going well in our league and are a good side.

‘It is a shame we have been drawn against Wessex opposition again. In this competition, it is nice to play against someone you don't normally meet.

‘We will do our homework and approach the tie in a professional manner.

‘I was really pleased with the way we played at Bashley.

‘We dominated the game and showed great character after going behind against the run of play.

‘Our shape was good and we remained patient.

‘More of the same will be needed if we are to get through the next round.'

Horndean have been handed an even stiffer FA Vase tie at Chertsey Town.

The Surrey side are top of the Combined Counties League premier division, having suffered just one defeat this season.

The Deans meet Bournemouth in the Wessex League Cup tonight and Michael Birmingham is set to field a much-changed side.

The boss said: ‘It is an opportunity for a number of players to show how close they are to breaking into the senior side.

‘I look upon it as a chance for a few to shine.'

Moneyfields are expected to make changes for their Russell-Cotes Cup tie at Hythe & Dibden.

AFC Portchester host New Milton Town at the Crest Finance Stadium in the same competition.
