AFC Stubbington claim superb Mid-Solent League victory over last season’s runners-up FC Strawberry
AFC Stubbington produced a superb result against last season’s Mid-Solent League runners-up FC Strawberry.
Goals from Sean Rawlings, Tom Knibbs and Nathan Finlay gave them a 3-0 victory in only their second game in the MSL.
Stubbington are one of three new clubs in the division along with Albion and East Lodge Youth.
That pair met at Havant Academy and two goals from Harry Potter gave early-season pacesetters Mob a 2-0 victory.
Former Clanfield striker Potter now has six goals in two matches after his four-goal show in Mob’s opening 12-2 victory over Rowner.
Rowner were on the receiving end of another heavy beating when they crashed 9-0 to Wymering.
Brad White - who scored over 40 goals for Wymering last term - led the way with a hat-trick. Hayden (2), McIntosh, Audin, Smith and Brett Farley were also on target.
Ollie Duncan netted twice as Portchester Rovers defeated Segensworth 4-2.
Aymen Yazidi scored with a far post header and David O’Donnell was also on target.
Goals from Whitcombe, Bailey and Singh gave Meon Milton a 3-2 victory at Burrfields, who replied through Jordan Shuttlesworth and Palmer.
A Jay Robinson double gave Carberry a 2-2 draw against Horndean United, who replied through Peters and Jamieson.
Two of the three sides with a 100 per cent record, Meon and Mob, meet this weekend.
And two of the three teams yet to pick up a point, Burrfields and Rowner, also meet in a game where something has to give.
