Wright broke the stalemate on 77 minutes scoring from close range after Aaron Dawson’s low cross was pushed out to him.

It was Gosport’s first win in five outings after a September to forget for Alex Pike’s side.

In the Ryman League premier division, the Hawks came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw with Staines Town at Westleigh Park.

A Jason Prior effort seven minutes after the restart gave Lee Bradbury’s side a share of the spoils, after the visitors took the lead at the start of the second half.

Also in the Ryman League, second-half goals from Ollie Pearce and Jimmy Wild gave Bognor a 2-0 victory against Tonbridge at Nyewood Lane.
