Boss Dave Carter is backing the experience of his Southern League side in their bid to upset the Premier League club's starlets.

'It will be a fantastic achievement if we can reach the final which is something the club has never managed before,' said Carter.

'It is a big night for the club.

'Obviously any team representing a Premier League club is going to be quality.

'Bournemouth under-21s are very strong and have not lost a game at their level this season.

'They are full-time players training every day of the week up against our part-timers.

'We are lucky if we see our players for a couple of hours in the evenings in midweek.

'What we do have, however, is plenty of experience.

'We have also shown already this season that we are capable of beating higher placed opponents.

'Aldershot Town were knocked out in an earlier round and we also beat Gosport Borough in the Portsmouth Senior Cup.'

Moneyfields displayed great cup fighting qualities in their win against National League Aldershot.

After racing into a 3-0 lead, they were pegged back to 3-3 before grabbing a second half winner.

They will need to be equally as resilient against AFC Bournemouth.

'It will be our experience against their youth, fitness and enthusiasm,' said Carter.

'One thing we can't afford to do is sit off them and allow them to play.

'We will be looking to get in amongst them from the start and deny them time on the ball.

'Hopefully our experience will count for a lot.

'It is a one-off knock-out game and we will go out and enjoy the occasion.'

Carter is boosted by the availability of three of his most experienced players.

Though striker Steve Hutchings is currently serving a three-match ban, it doesn't apply to the cup game.

The former AFC Bournemouth man’s physicality and ability on the ball will bring his fellow forwards into the game.

In midfield Lewis Fennemore is back from injury and his leadership again could prove to be a crucial factor.

Likewise the return of Brett Poate in the back four.

'The cups are important to us,' said Carter.

'With the league play-offs out of our reach, the cups very much give us something to play for.'

Moneyfields are also still in the Portsmouth Senior Cup they won last season, and face Denmead in the quarter finals.
