Boud sent off on ‘chaotic’ night as HPL leaders Infinity are lucky not to lose unbeaten record at lowly Locks Heath

Danny Thompson admitted Infinity were lucky to bag a point after a 'poor' performance at lowly Hampshire Premier Senior Division side Locks Heath last night.

The table-toppers were held to a 1-1 draw at the second from bottom strugglers on a 'chaotic' night.

Wing-back Tristan Dawson was forced off early due to injury while Ryan Llewellyn could not come out for the second half.

To make matters worse, Wayne Boud was shown a straight red card for dissent on 65 minutes and Infinity played a spell with nine-men as Luke Middleton was sent to the sin-bin.

Jamie White had fired the visitors in front minutes before the break - his 38th goal of the season - but Mario Fernandez equalised 16 minutes from time.

It was all one-way traffic from that point, with Locks looking the most likely to claim a surprise win and end Infinity’s unbeaten HPL run.

‘It was a really poor performance,' said Thompson. ‘You could tell that we haven’t played a game since January 8.

‘All credit to Locks Heath, we were lucky to get a draw to be honest.

'We lost Tristan Dawson after 10 minutes through a calf injury so we had to make a change there, Charlie Cooper came on to replace him.

‘We had to make a change at half-time, Ryan Llewelyn came off and Josh Cripps came on.

‘Wayne Boud got sent off, we had Luke Middleton put in the sin-bin - it was a night of chaos really.

‘We could have quite easily lost, but we didn’t.

‘We managed to hang on - ‘Tom (Boyle) made two fantastic saves in the last 10 minutes.

‘I was just pleased when the final whistle went.'

Thompson had a 'few choice words' with his players in the dressing room after the game.

But he wants Infinity to remain positive heading into the final 10 matches of the season.

Nearest title challengers Bush Hill, down in fourth, are nine points behind but with three matches in hand.

‘We’ve got 10 games to go and we’ve got to pick ourselves up,’ said Thompson.

‘We’ve got to pick ourselves up and go again at Sway.'
