Bradbury: Hawks must step it up again at Grimsby Town

The Hawks have been handed a daunting trip to Vanarama National League Grimsby Town in the fourth round of the FA Trophy.

It is a repeat of the tie two years ago when the Hawks lost 3-0 at Blundell Park.

Hawks manager Lee Bradbury is looking forward to a second opportunity to pull off a shock.

He is ready for another tricky tie.

‘This is a tough draw but we have had nothing but tough draws in all the cup competitions this season,’ said Bradbury.

‘We have shown already we can more than compete with teams in the Conference National.

‘We can travel up there with that in the back of our mind.’

Bradbury knows Grimsby will be favourites for the match.

But that certainly doesn’t mean they will be assured of a place in the next round.

Despite their league position, the Hawks have shown they can step it up when they are on top of their game.

‘Cup games often throw up a few surprises and we have to try and be one of them,’ added Bradbury.

‘Their manager Paul Hurst is a good friend of mine so there is an added incentive to get one over on him.

‘Last time we played them they scored twice in the first 20 minutes.

‘We want to do ourselves justice this time.

‘I will be telling the players we have to go up there and give it everything we have got.’

If Bognor beat Altrincham in tonight’s rescheduled third round tie they will travel to National League South Sutton United.
