After leading the table for the majority of the first half of the season, the Dover Road outfit have let things slip.

They have dropped to eighth and are seven points behind sixth-placed Chalfont St Peter.

Nevertheless, Carter feels the games coming up will provide his team with the chance to make up lost ground.

Moneys’ next three matches are all against bottom-six sides.

First up is a trip to 18th-placed Aylesbury tomorrow, followed by a visit from basement-club Arlesey Town next weekend.

If Moneyfields are to have a realistic chance of making the play-offs, Carter believes his team must deliver three successive victories.

‘If we don’t take maximum points from the next three games then we won’t deserve to make the play-offs,’ said the boss.

‘It is important we approach the games with the correct mental attitude.

‘To be fair, though, the attitude in the squad has been good because the players want to get back to winning ways.

‘We have a good run of fixtures between now and the end of the season.

‘There are only two teams in the top 10 left to play and both of those have to come to Dover Road.

‘It is up to us to make the most of this.

‘We have largely done the hard yards against the top sides.

‘I now want us to show our quality against the teams at the lower end of the league.’

Moneyfields are still without defender Brett Poate for the trip to Aylesbury.

Carter is also waiting on the fitness of Hawks loanee Marley Ridge.

However, Tyler Giddings is back in contention after suspension and Joe Briggs could return from injury.
