Paul Cook is expecting buoyant Cheltenham to look at it as '˜a free hit' when they host Pompey on Saturday.

The League Two strugglers found some form on Tuesday when they battered Crewe 4-1 in the FA Cup.

Their performance really impressed Cook.

And he knows Robins manager Gary Johnson will have his side champing at the bit to welcome the Blues and their fantastic support.

The home side, in 21st place in the table, will go into the game as the underdogs, without any pressure, and with the opportunity to topple a promotion chaser.

That makes them dangerous and Pompey boss Cook has warned against looking at the league table and expecting an easy victory after the 4-0 success at Mansfield.

He said: ‘I would imagine they will see it as a free-hit with us going there and our large travelling support.

‘They will be saying “let’s go again” after their win at Crewe.

‘I watched them on Tuesday night. It was the first time I have had an opportunity to see them.

‘They were excellent on the night.

‘Crewe is a difficult place to go.

‘We could only draw there. I think Plymouth rode their luck there on Saturday because they went 2-0 down and Crewe missed a penalty.

‘Cheltenham were very, very comfortable winners on the night.

‘They could have won by more. I was very impressed with Cheltenham.

‘I think it will be a very tough game for us but I’ve got great confidence in our team.’
