Cook: Reasons to be positive after Pompey draw
Paul Cook thought there were plenty of reasons to be satisfied after the draw at Crewe.
Cook felt the performance at Gresty Road had positives to take – as well as plenty to work on.
A strong start in each of the halves were among the plusses, and the Blues boss felt the outcome was a fair one.
Cook said: ‘There were things which were pleasing and others that weren’t so much.
‘We started well and I was satisfied with how we went about the first 25 minutes.
‘We maybe lost our way a bit after that and then started the second half well.
‘People will have their opinions but I think a draw was a fair result.
‘We’re two games in, though, and a win against Morecambe on Tuesday will make it a good start.’
There is concern tonight, however, for Jack Whatmough who came off with a knee injury – after suffering a cruciate injury last year.
Cook said: ‘We’re keeping our fingers crossed for Jack.’
