Curtis salutes his Portsmouth '˜partner in crime'
RONAN CURTIS hailed the influence '˜partner in crime' Lee Brown has had on his game.Â
The forward's made a scintillating start to his Pompey career after signing from Derry City this summer.
Despite not playing in the Football League before, Curtis has acclimatised swiftly, registering five goals and three assists in seven appearances.Â
His impressive form yielded a maiden call-up to the Republic of Ireland senior squad.Â
Having primarily operated in a left-wing role for Kenny Jackett's side, Curtis has had Brown giving him guidance down the flank from defence.
The 22-year-old saluted the former Bristol Rovers left-back for helping him adapt during the early stages of his League One career.
Curtis said: '˜Browny is one of my best pals in the team '“Â he's my partner in crime.
'˜He looks after me a lot and talks to me, although we do have a little nibble once in a while!
'˜The link-up play is amazing between the two of us and we work well together.
'˜He's been around the leagues a long time. It's good to have an experienced left-back in behind to talk and guide you because I'm still young and it's my first season in League One.
'˜Browny has been a great mate to me.
'˜But I told him not to be afraid to give me a telling off and to get on my back when it's needed. Everyone knows that already.'
Curtis returns to Pompey's squad for today's trip to Peterborough United after returning from international duty. Â
