MacGillivray will bid for the Blues' fourth clean sheet on the bounce as they aim to keep out Shrewsbury at Fratton Park this weekend.

The 25-year-old made a strong start to his career at PO4, with just three goals conceded in his six appearances to date.

Defender Matt Clarke has no doubt his presence has been a big factor in his side's powerful start.

Clarke said: '˜Craig's had a massive impact.

'˜At times, though, Craig has really got us out of jail when you are under the cosh.

'˜As defenders you can't stop every shot.

'˜The opposition are going to have shots on target and have chances.

'˜When we've not been there he's been there - and that makes a massive difference.'

Clarke noted how MacGillivray has exuded confidence since starting the campaign in goal, and that has transmitted to the players in front of him.

He added:  '˜Craig is vocal on and off the pitch. He's a good character to have behind us.

'˜He's confident and in good form. When you're not confident everything keepers come for don't come off.

'˜He's coming for things and the impressive thing is when he comes he doesn't hesitate.

'˜He's the keeper and part of the backbone of the side.

'˜If he plays well and we as a defence play well, we're going to do well.'
