Dave Carter's side's clash was rescheduled for a 1pm kick-off because of damage to the floodlights the hosts' Sports Ground.

It meant Moneys had to set off from Dover Road earlier than usual.

But it didn't effect the visitors in the slightest and they raced into a three-goal lead within 15 minutes.

A double from Dan Wooden and a Steve Hutchings penalty put the visitors firmly in charge.

Although Bideford pulled a goal back on 70 minutes, Moneyfields were never in any danger.

It ensured Carter's troops consolidated third spot in the division.

And the Moneyfields boss enthused how his team opened the game.

'˜The first 30 minutes was probably the best we have played all season,' he said.

'˜We made sure we got there in plenty of time and prepared ourselves properly.

'˜It paid off because Bideford couldn't live with us at the start.

'˜We raced out of the blocks and were three goals up inside the first 15 minutes.

'˜It was just the start we wanted.'

After just three minutes Wooden was brought down inside the area to earn a penalty.

Hutchings made no mistake by burying his spot-kick into the corner.

On 10 minutes the home goalkeeper saved a Lloyd Rowlett effort but Wooden was on hand to stroke home the rebound.

Lewis Fennemore set up the visitors' third goal.

He played in Wooden, who slotted the ball past the keeper from the edge of the area.

Soon afterwards the former Gosport Borough man missed the chance to complete his hat-trick when he sent a glancing header just wide.

The home side scored the only goal of the second period with 20 minutes remaining, although it proved nothing but a consolation.

Moneyfields stretch their unbeaten run in the league to 10 matches.

Carter wants to see the streak go on for as long as possible.

The Moneys boss added: '˜I couldn't have asked for any more after a long five-hour journey.

'˜The mood in the camp is buoyant and the players are focused on keeping our winning run going as long as possible.'
