Eisner reveals Portsmouth plans for future recruitmentÂ

The Blues brought 10 new faces to Fratton Park over the summer.

Six of those were on a permanent basis, with Ronan Curtis, Louis Dennis, Lee Brown, Craig MacGillivray and Tom Naylor all signing before Pompey returned to pre-season training. 

Anton Walkes arrived a few weeks later from Spurs. 

It meant there was no repeat of the hectic summer transfer deadline day in 2017, which saw four players arrive and four depart Fratton Park. 

Only Joe Mason moved to the Blues as the loan window prepared to shut.

Eisner revealed Pompey were determined not to '˜scramble for players'.

And the Blues director vowed the club will always support boss Jackett's recruitment decisions.

Speaking to the Pompey Supporters' Trust at their AGM on Thursday via a pre-recorded video, he said: '˜One of the things we talked about is we'll do our business early on so we're not scrambling at the end.

'˜A lot of teams end up at the last moment trying to scramble for players.

'˜In the January and the summer window, we'll hopefully take care of our business early.'

'˜It's now our second or third window and we think we're getting our legs under us and will always be there to support Kenny and Joe's decision.'

Pompey are also hoping to continue to expand their scouting network.

Youngsters Petar Durrin and Eoin Teggart signed for the academy recently from Atalanta and Cliftonville respectively.

'˜Over time, we want to build our the scouting recruitment part of the club,' added Eisner.

'˜As you move forward that's a big building stone to accomplish all of our goals.'

Some sections of the Fratton faithful criticised Pompey's January recruitment last season.

Despite Danny Rose being sidelined with a broken leg, no experienced central midfielder arrived as a replacement.

However, Tornante chairman Michael Eisner put that down to Jackett's lack of planning time after taking over as manager from Paul Cook in June 2017. 

And Pompey's owner saluted the boss' business this summer.

He said: '˜Let me make one point about recruitment '“ this is a really important point regarding our planning.

'˜We didn't have a lot of time because Kenny didn't come in until the end of last season so the January window was a quick transfer opportunity.

'˜But in the summer we were very well prepared and think we did a really good job.'
