Ex-Chelsea talent at Pompey's training return

Jon Harley was one of the new faces on Pompey's return to pre-season training this morning.

The 32-year-old former Chelsea and Fulham talent was among a Blues squad of 20 players at the club’s Eastleigh base.

Harley, 32, is currently a free agent after being released by Notts County last season.

Meanwhile, Aaron Mokoena and Kanu were the notable absences from training.

The duo - who have been the subject of talks to cancel the remaining 12 months of their contracts - had been expected to be present today.

However, they did not take their place among a mixture of senior players and youngsters from development squad.

Those present included the controversial Tal Ben Haim and coveted duo David Norris and Luke Varney.

Norris has been linked with Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday, while Varney is wanted by Leeds.

Mokoena, meanwhile, has been lined up for a return to South Africa with Bidvest Wits.
