Fareham feeling confident... Hutchings to return

The Reds extended their unbeaten run to seven games at Bashley in midweek, keeping a third successive clean sheet.

Stiles puts the improvement down to greater fitness, better organisation and some few new faces.

‘We have got that thing about us where the players regard keeping a clean sheet as something personal,’ said Stiles.

‘In the second half at Bashley we were put under the cosh a bit.

‘When I first took over I would be fearing the worst and possibly be looking the other way.

‘Now I feel we look very solid at the back, even when being put under pressure.

‘Part of that is down to the experience we have back there.

‘Luke James, Robbie Pittman, Callum Laycock and Sam Martin have all been around a bit.

‘We also now have players playing in their correct positions and they are more familiar with what we are asking them to do.

‘Our aim is to make things as simple as possible because it is easy to over-complicate football at times.’

Stiles will make a few changes to the side as he looks to keep it fresh.

Moneyfields have powerful striker and captain, Steve Hutchings, back for the visit to Amesbury Town.

Hutchings has missed the last two games through illness.

Manager Dave Carter will also bring back a number of senior players who missed the Russell Cotes Cup defeat in midweek.

Dan Woodward, Brett Poate, Steve Mowthorpe, Dan Wooden and Gary Austin are all expected to return.

‘I have challenged the players to win our remaining 10 games,’ said Carter.

AFC Portchester host Bemerton Heath Harlequins insisting the Royals won’t allow their season to fizzle out.

Though winning promotion is looking remote, Rix is aiming for the highest possible finish and determined to ensure the team don’t ease up.

‘Getting back to winning ways at Bournemouth was important,’ said Rix.

‘Hopefully we can keep that going and I am expecting the players to show the right attitude.

‘We always have tough games against Bemerton.’

Joe Noakes, Miles Everett, Gary Moody and George Wells remain on the injury list.
