Fenix boast two hat-trick heroes – yet still finish on the losing side in Portsmouth Sunday League Challenge Cup goal-fest

FC Fenix pair Ash Sills and Chris Bearpark both struck hat-tricks in their Portsmouth Sunday League Challenge Cup tie against AC FC - only to finish on the losing side!

A remarkable first round tie ended 5-5 at the end of 90 minutes and 6-6 after extra time, before AC won 4-3 on penalties.

Clayton Wylie was the tie’s third hat-trick hero for AC, with Ray Butler (2) also on target.

Top scorers were Southsea United who hammered Fratton Trades A 16-0.

Aaron Behan and Zack Willett both struck five goals, with Willett’s haul coming after he came off the bench.

It was his second treble in two games, having scored three in the previous Sunday’s league win against Saturn Royale.

Jon Robertson (3), Kerion Blackman and Fred Goldring were also on target against Fratton Trades.

Only two players netted as Friends Fighting Cancer thrashed AFC Eastney 9-1.

Harry Byrne struck five goals and Jake Daniels helped himself to the other four, with Kyle Hollies replying.

Harry Fordham’s hat-trick helped AFC Leigh Park trounce Freehouse B 8-0. Further goals came from Josh Bowen (2), Connor Bowen, Harley Hawkins and Tommy Russell.

Lee Bedden, Ash Howes and Ben Vassallo all netted twice as Wheelwrights Old Boys caned AFC Fairfields 8-1. Kevin Chatfield and Wade Johnson completed the rout with Ricky Hemming replying..

Sonny Smith (2) and Harry Gregory helped AFC Trades defeat Portsbridge 3-2.

A Chad Goodall goal was enough to see Purbrook United progress against AFC Prospect Farm Rangers.

Liam Jatta and Moulay Ousman netted all the goals as AFC Portchester triumphed 5-3 at Bedhampton Village.

Jatta struck a hat-trick and Ousman scored twice, with Kai Gateshill (2) and James Murdock replying.

Freehouse A, from Division 4, defeated two divisions lower Padnell Rovers 3-2. Harry Hatherley and Spencer Baldry, who converted a great cross from Dave Hatherley, replied for Rovers.

Wes Coyle’s four-goal haul helped Samba win 6-2 at Cosham Trades. Jay Holmes and Bassam Albarwani also netted with Taylor Hanson and Charlie George replying.

Sub Shaun Willett grabbed the winner to settle an end-to-end tie between Horndean United Reserves and Sheperd’s Crook Panthers

United led through Jake Burley and Adam Russell but Crook clawed their way back with Horndean keeper Jamieson making some great saves.

Mike Benfield, Ben Jewell and Steve Southam netted as Watersedge defeated Friends Fighting Cancer Reserves 3-1.

Sub Tyler Moret’s brace helped Milton Rovers to a 3-1 victory over Horndean Hawks. Sam Willett also scored with Oli McCormack replying.
