The Pompey keeper isn’t considering what lies ahead as he continues his season-long stay at Fratton Park.

But the Irishman feels there is still better form to come from him after arriving from Millwall in the summer.

The 36-year-old has now made 14 appearances for Paul Cook’s side.

Four clean sheets in five league games underlined a strong start from Forde.

But just one shut out has arrived since, with the Blues looking more unsettled at the back.

Forde has been a big presence at Pompey since making his move to the club.

He is focusing on enjoying his time at Fratton rather than his own situation.

‘I’m totally enjoying my time at the moment. It’s an amazing football club,’ said Forde.

‘The facilities are top class and the fans are great. I couldn’t wish for anything better.

‘All I’m thinking of is repaying that faith shown in me, being successful this year and getting the club back to where they want to be – and where it should be.’

Forde is satisfied with the form he’s produced since becoming the Blues’ No1.

He is adamant, however, there are still better days which lie ahead.

The Republic of Ireland international admitted he is still becoming accustomed to his new surroundings.

But he is confident there will be improvements to come as the campaign heats up.

Forde added: ‘It’s still relatively early in the grand scheme of things.

‘But I’m just thankful being part of Portsmouth Football Club.

‘It’s still early days and I’m finding my feet.

‘I’m relatively happy with how things are going, but there’s still more to come.’
