Former Hawks striker will be aiming for 41st birthday goal at Westleigh Park … with the 39th club of his career!

One of the most peripatetic footballers in non-league history will be aiming to celebrate his 41st birthday with a goal at Westleigh Park this weekend.

Hugely-travelled striker Jefferson Louis joined St Albans just before Christmas - the 39th club of his remarkable career which began with Risborough Rangers in the mid-1990s.

Louis had only made Hampton & Richmond Borough his 38th club a few months earlier after joining the National League South club from Chesham.

The Hawks are among the lengthy list of Louis’ former clubs, having had a stint at Westleigh Park in the second half of the 2006/07 season.

During his time at Hawks he played alongside his cousin, Richard Pacquette.

The two men played in the same World Cup qualifier the following year - for Dominica against Barbados.

St Albans are embroiled in a NLS relegation battle, just outside the bottom two but having played three more games than the team below them, Tonbridge Angels.

They have, though, won more away league games than at home this term.

And Hawks boss Paul Doswell will be aware that their last two away league successes were at high-flying pair Weymouth and Bath City.

A goal from top scorer Joe Iaciofano gave them victory at Weymouth before Christmas, while the 21-year-old was also on target in a recent 3-0 win at Twerton Park.

Released by Northampton Town last summer, Iaciofano is the leading goalscorer in National League South with 15 goals.

That is just one more than Hawks’ Jonah Ayunga, who netted two of his 14 goals in last November’s 3-1 win at St Albans.
